A few items to have in your vehicle this winter

Winter can be unpredictable. You never know when you will be stuck in a snowstorm, or if your vehicle will stay stuck in a snowbank somewhere and you will have to wait for hours for help to arrive. It is therefore very important to make sure that you are prepared for the unexpected the second the first snow starts to fall. Here are a few things that you want to have you and your vehicle in order to face the unexpected this winter.

You will want to have something to stay warm

We’ve seen situations before where people had to wait for hours in the middle of winter in their vehicle. If this should happen to you, and we certainly do not wish it, you will want to remain prepared by having some hot packs to keep you warm in winter. You don’t want to have a blanket or warm clothing because if they are left in the vehicle overnight for an extended period of time they will become cold and useless should you need to warm up.

Traction aids and a shovel

Should you be stuck in the snow, you want to have the necessary equipment. The best way to get unstuck is with traction aids which you place in front of your tires when they don’t have any grip. You’ll drive right out of that sticky spot. It is also a good idea to carry around a shovel as well as some salt so that you can get dig your wheels and tires out of the snow.

Make sure your phone is charged, and your battery as well

You want a fully charged cell phone so that you can call for help, but you also want to have booster cables in your vehicle should your battery go dead!
